SpaceX's Starlink has received South Korean government approval to launch its satellite internet service with SK Telecom (KRX:017670)'s SK Telink, The Korea Herald reported Tuesday.

Starlink will begin service once antenna conformity checks are complete, offering high-speed, low-latency connectivity to remote areas, aircraft, and maritime vessels, the report said.

Rollout of the service follows similar approvals for Hanwha Systems (KRX:272210) and KT Sat, resellers of rival provider Eutelsat-OneWeb, it said.

Shares of SK Telecom rose nearly 2% in recent trade on Wednesday.
