Brazil-based BTG Pactual is looking to expand in Asia as Beijing and Brasilia bolster their economic partnership amid the tariff war with the US, the South China Morning Post reported Monday.
The Brazilian investment bank is considering a revival of an office in Hong Kong, BTG Partner João Scandiuzzi reportedly said in an interview with the Post.
The company's predecessor once owned an office in the city but closed it in 2015, the report said.
BTG plans to capitalize on increasing demand for data centers from Chinese artificial intelligence firms, SCMP reported.
