Nokia (NOK) said Tuesday that the city of Elberton, Georgia, has selected Nokia, along with its partner ZCorum, to replace the city's cable broadband infrastructure with a 25G passive optical network-ready fiber network.
Nokia's MoCA Access will be used to provide high-speed internet access in buildings that can't be fiberized. The company's IP/MPLS routing product will create a scalable and reliable infrastructure for broadband, the company said.
ZCorum, which provides broadband diagnostics, will supply and install the technology on-site. It will also provide ongoing technical and operational support.
