Exclusive: Gallagher Re names Lyon to lead Gallagher Securities UK

June 2 - (The Insurer) - Gallagher Re has appointed Ben Lyon as CEO of Gallagher Securities Limited and head of capital advisory, the reinsurance broker has confirmed to The Insurer.

Lyon succeeds Brian Shea as CEO of Gallagher Securities in the UK. Shea, who has held the role since 2022, will remain as chairman of its global strategic advisory offering.

Based in London, Lyon will work closely with Gallagher Re's broader ILS team to increase access to global institutional capital and expand into new areas.

He joins Gallagher Re from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he worked on (re)insurance and private capital-related M&A, joint ventures, strategic legacy deals, equity and debt capital raising, as well as complex reinsurance transactions.

Confirming the appointment, Jason Bolding, CEO of Gallagher Securities, said: "Ben joins us with an excellent reputation and a wealth of knowledge across a range of complex insurance transactions.

"We are pleased that Ben has joined the team and we look forward to his contributions to help enhance Gallagher Securities capabilities."
