Arch promotes Short to lead digital underwriting across international business

By Ryan Hewlett

June 4 - (The Insurer) - Arch Insurance International has promoted Ed Short to the newly created role of head of digital, effective immediately.

Short will be responsible for executing the digital underwriting strategy across Arch’s international unit, including its London market, UK regional, Australia, EU and Bermuda platforms.

He will work closely with Arch’s underwriting teams to advance its digital capabilities across products, placement and partnerships. The move is designed to better provide brokers with access to capacity and expertise while fostering a digital environment that complements Arch’s open-market underwriting.

Short takes on the digital leadership role having previously been vice president, digital partners at Arch. He joined the company in 2023 from AdvantageGo, where he served as UK sales director. Short has also held roles at Hiscox, Barbican and HCC Global.

Hugh Sturgess, CEO of Arch Insurance International, said the continued investment in Arch’s digital solutions is a “natural response” to a changing distribution landscape and evolving broker placement strategies.
