E.ON SE has announced a strategic partnership with CyrusOne, a prominent global data center operator, to design and implement local power generation solutions for data centers. This collaboration marks an industry first, allowing the two companies to jointly develop future energy projects in Frankfurt, Europe's largest data center hub, which currently faces challenges due to limited grid capacity and connection delays. The partnership aims to provide interim capacity for customers in key markets experiencing grid access delays. The initial project under this agreement will involve E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions designing the E.ON IQ Energy® Center, a local power generation system. Additionally, the partnership will focus on grid support, power purchase agreements, and heat management to enhance energy infrastructure solutions across the continent.
