Micron climbs 4.1% after the chipmaker said it shipped the first sample of a new chip designed for artificial-intelligence applications on smartphones. Dollar General jumps 16% after the retailer raised its outlook. Robinhood Markets gains 5.5% after the brokerage platform closed a deal to buy crypto exchange Bitstamp. DJIA rises 214 points, or 0.5%, to 42519, the S&P 500 gains 0.6% to 5970 and the Nasdaq climbs 0.8% to 19398.
