Meta Platforms (META) has been working on plans to open physical stores and hire retail staff to support sales of smart glasses and other hardware products, Business Insider reported Wednesday, citing an internal communication.

The tech giant currently operates just one retail space, the Meta Store, on its campus in Burlingame, California, where customers can try out devices like Meta Quest VR headsets and Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, according to the report.

While it's unclear how many stores Meta plans to open or when, the company tested the concept last year with a pop-up store in Los Angeles to promote its smart glasses, the report said.

Meta declined to comment to Business Insider. The company didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
