1713 ET - Gap's namesake brand and Old Navy continue to do the company's heavy lifting as Athleta faces another quarterly same-store sales decline. The athleticwear brand attracted new, trend-forward customers last quarter but failed to have enough compelling products for its existing clientele, Gap CEO Richard Dickson says on a call with analysts. The company remains focused on resetting Athleta with product and marketing improvements, and foresees a longer recovery period than initially expected, management says. "We do expect this year to continue to be choppy, as we continue to focus on fixing the fundamentals" for Athleta, Dickson says. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
