Emmerson Resources (ASX:ERM) said that its joint venture partner Tennant Mining, a unit of Pan African Resources, began commercial gold production from the carbon-in-leach gold processing facility near Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The production to date is from Tennant Mining-owned deposits, the filing said. The timing of future processing from the joint venture deposits leading to royalty payments is yet to be determined.
Based on Pan African Resources' initial production profile, the firm expects that the minimum production shortfall will be between 57,500 ounces and 60,000 ounces, resulting in payment of around AU$18 million payable to Emmerson in staged payments between April and August 2026.
Its shares rose 2% in recent trading on Friday.
