Capri Evaluating Raising Prices to Offset Tariffs -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
28 May

0934 ET - Michael Kors parent Capri is the latest brand to say it is evaluating raising prices on certain products to offset the impact of tariffs. Coach, Ralph Lauren and Macy's are also taking prices up on select items. The challenge for Capri, which also owns the Jimmy Choo brand, is that sales have been falling, down 15.6% at Kors and 2.9% at Choo in the recent quarter. It's harder to raise prices when demand for the items you are selling is weak.(Suzanne.Kapner@wsj.com)
