Astroscale Holdings' (TYO:186A) UK subsidiary has completed Phase 2 of the Cleaning Outer Space Mission through Innovative Capture (COSMIC) project with the UK Space Agency, with a final contract value of 2.02 million pounds, according to a Tuesday filing on the Tokyo exchange.
Phase 2 focused on maturing technologies for the removal of two inactive UK satellites, including robotic arm capture, plume impingement for detumbling, and refueling capabilities, the filing said.
The company also assessed the feasibility of integrating space domain awareness payloads and advanced regulatory and cost optimization work.
Astroscale Holdings said the UK subsidiary plans to bid in the upcoming competitive phase of the UK's Active Debris Removal program.
