Hong Kong is now the world's second-largest market in terms of initial public offering fundraising following the trading debut of Contemporary Amperex Technology (HKG:3750, SHE:300750) in the city, The Standard reported Tuesday, citing Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKG:0388).

CATL could raise up to $5 billion should it exercise fully its overallotment or greenshoe option, the report said, citing HKEX Chief Executive Officer Bonnie Chan Yi-ting.

The world's largest battery manufacturer raised $4.6 billion from its Hong Kong secondary listing, the report said.

HKEX also received nearly 100 new listing applications since the beginning of 2025, with several IPO candidates having a fundraising size of at least $1 billion, the report said.

The bourse operator is also processing 150 applications, The Standard said.
