1418 ET - Fears that users could come to replace Google Search with AI competitors like ChatGPT are overblown, BMO analysts say in a research note. BMO's survey of 1,000 U.S. consumers shows users are increasingly loyal to Google, with 73% saying they are unlikely to stop using it as their primary search tool, up from 61% last August, the analysts say. Even if it's no longer the default option, most users would continue to opt for Google, the analysts add. Some of that loyalty seems tied to satisfaction with the platform's AI Overviews, with roughly 49% of Google users having a favorable view of AI Overviews, compared to 44% maintaining a neutral view, the analysts say.(kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
