Samsung Electronics, Google to Launch Android-based XR Powered by Gemini AI

Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) and Google will collaborate to introduce Gemini AI assistant to extended reality (XR) devices, which can deliver hands-free, perspective-aware support across a new range of wearables, Google said Wednesday.

Google introduced Android XR, which is the first Android platform built for the Gemini era, and designed to run on headsets and smart glasses, among other products, the release said.

Samsung's upcoming XR headset, Project Moohan, will launch later this year in partnership with Qualcomm.

Shares of Samsung Electronics fell nearly 2% at market close on Thursday.
