TJX Seeing Tariff Uneasiness from Vendors -- Market Talk

1249 ET - T.J. Maxx owner TJX is seeing some uneasiness from the vendor community that it works with due to the global tariff war, CEO Ernie Herrman says on a call with analysts. Some vendors are talking about cutting back or delaying shipments in the back half of the year, and traditional retailers could make similar moves, the CEO says. TJX has flexibility going forward to lean into categories that still have good inventory flow and cut back on ones that don't, Herrman says. "Our only contract to the customer is that we will have great value on the goods that we put out there," he says. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
