Cisco Systems Inc. has announced a new partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to join the Stargate UAE consortium as a preferred technology partner. This strategic collaboration involves Cisco working alongside G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, and SoftBank Group to advance AI innovation and infrastructure development in the Middle East. The consortium envisions the construction of a cutting-edge AI data center in Abu Dhabi, with an initial capacity of 200 MW set to be delivered in 2026 and a target capacity of 1 GW. Cisco will provide networking, security, and observability hardware and software solutions to support OpenAI workloads, thereby enhancing AI infrastructure in the region. This partnership aligns with recent initiatives by Cisco to power AI ambitions in the Middle East, as well as President Trump's recent visit to the region.
