Contemporary Amperex Technology (SHE:300750, HKG:3750) is looking to achieve carbon neutrality in 2025, the South China Morning Post reported Tuesday, citing Chairman Robin Zeng Yuqun.
"This listing signifies our deeper integration into the global capital markets and marks a new milestone in our mission to drive the global zero-carbon economy," the SCMP quoted Zeng as saying during the battery giant's market debut in Hong Kong.
CATL will offer its technologies to help other companies in the steel, cement, and chemical industries transition to clean energy, the report said, citing Zeng.
The world's largest battery manufacturer revealed its plan to attain zero emissions in its core operations by 2025 and across the battery chain by 2035, the report said.
