Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) said assay results from diamond drilling across the Siona discovery at the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee gold project in Western Australia confirmed wide, low-grade mineralization continuity at depth, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
Geological analysis suggests continuous higher-grade mineralization occurs within the broader low-grade mineralization.
Significant intercepts encountered during the drilling campaign included 16.3 meters at 0.5 g/t grade of gold from 322.2 meters, as well as 29.1 meters at 0.4 g/t grade of gold from 282.9 meters.
Air core drilling will be conducted across the Caladan target area in late May, and afterwards, the air-core drilling rig will be mobilized to the New England Granite target area, of which the Siona discovery is a part.
Its shares plunged 21% in recent trading on Wednesday.
