Cathay Pacific's Passenger Count Rises 36% in April

Cathay Pacific (HKG:0293) carried nearly 2.4 million passengers in April, up 36% year over year, according to a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

Passenger capacity rose 27% year over year to about 11 billion available seat kilometers.

Cargo carried increased 14% to 133,398 tonnes, while cargo capacity grew 8.9% to 1.20 billion available freight-tonne kilometers.

Subsidiary HK Express carried 695,607 passengers, increasing 32% from the year-ago period.
