Singtel Returns to Attributable Profit in Fiscal H2

Singtel (SGX:Z74) booked an attributable profit to shareholders of SG$2.79 billion for fiscal H2, against an attributable loss of SG$1.34 billion a year earlier, according to a filing with the Singapore Exchange on Thursday.

Earnings per share came in at SG$0.1688 compared with a loss per share of SG$0.0813 in the comparable period. Analysts polled by Visible Alpha estimated earnings per share of SG$0.12.

Operating revenue jumped to SG$7.15 billion year over year from SG$7.10 billion. Analysts polled by Visible Alpha had projected revenue of SG$7.24 billion.

The company's director proposed a final dividend of SG$0.1 per share.

Shares of the telecommunications provider were up over 2% in recent trading.
