U.S. Natural Gas Futures End Week Unchanged -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
24 May

1518 ET - U.S. natural gas futures recover ground to end the week flat as the low-demand shoulder season enters its last days. A Tuesday short-covering rally was followed by two days of losses, with the market awaiting summer weather to lift demand and temper the rate of inventory builds. "Overall, the market has shrugged off yesterday's large +120 Bcf injection, though longer-range weather forecasts have added heat which is set to dampen next week's injection with the market expecting a build near 100 Bcf," Gelber & Associates says in a note. Nymex natural gas settles up 2.5% at $3.334/mmBtu. (anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
