Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google is facing an antitrust investigation from the Department of Justice over a deal to use a chatbot maker's artificial intelligence technology, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Antitrust enforcers informed Google that they are assessing whether it structured a deal with Character.AI to bypass a formal government merger review, the report said.
Google didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
