Archer Aviation (ACHR) is partnering with Anduril Industries UK, Skyports Drone Services and AtkinsRealis to test its Midnight electric vertical take-off and landing, or eVOTL, aircraft for cargo and dual-use operations in the UK.

The partnership will explore using Archer's eVTOL aircraft in both civilian and defense logistics applications, including operations beyond visual line of sight, Anduril said Monday.

Archer will provide the aircraft platform, while Anduril will lead system integration and adapt the vehicle for local operational needs, the company said, adding that the project also involves work on a previously announced hybrid-propulsion VTOL model.

Anduril said Skyports will support with operational expertise from past drone delivery projects, and AtkinsRealis will assist with regulatory integration.

The program may lead to future bids for flight operations, Anduril said.
