AeroVironment Inc., through its Tomahawk product line, has secured a $5.1 million contract from the U.S. Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) for the Human-Machine Integrated Formations (HMIF) project. The contract involves the use of Tomahawk's Grip TA5 as the Dismounted Common Controller $(DCC.UK)$ to enhance human-machine teaming in battlefield operations. The Grip TA5, known for its modular architecture and multi-platform compatibility, allows operators to command and control multiple robotic assets in real-time, thus improving mission adaptability and response speed. This initiative aims to accelerate the integration of autonomous and robotic systems to boost situational awareness, lethality, and survivability in military formations. Jason Hendrix, AV's vice president and general manager of Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, highlighted this achievement as a significant milestone for advancing human-machine collaboration in military contexts.
