Communications shares gained the most on the New Zealand Exchange, rising past 2% by midday Tuesday.
Spark New Zealand (ASX:SPK, NZE:SPK) shares rose past 4% in recent trade.
On the other hand, technology services shares fell 1.4%.
Gentrack Group (ASX:GTK, NZE:GTK) drove the decline, with shares dropping nearly 2% on its second session of losses this week after it reported fiscal first-half earnings per diluted share of NZ$0.06, compared to analysts' expectation of NZ$0.07.
