Sojitz (TYO:2768) has acquired Singapore-based Royal Healthcare for an undisclosed sum, making it a consolidated subsidiary as the Japanese trading house aims to strengthen its healthcare business in developed markets, Nikkei Asia reported Tuesday.
Royal Healthcare operates in Singapore's Novena medical hub and offers screenings and specialized care across 20 fields, the report said. Known for its same-day diagnostic results and advanced equipment, the provider serves both local and overseas patients amid growing demand from an aging population and rising medical tourism, it added.
Sojitz plans to leverage its network of healthcare professionals and manufacturers to expand into areas such as regenerative medicine and predictive diagnostics.
