BioNTech to Invest $1.33 Billion in UK Research Over 10 Years

BioNTech (BNTX) said Tuesday it will invest up to 1 billion British pounds ($1.33 billion) over 10 years to expand its research operations in the UK, supported by a government grant of up to 129 million pounds.

The company said the funding agreement extends BioNTech's ongoing partnership with the UK government and includes plans to open two new research centers and to establish a headquarters in London.

BioNTech said it aims to accelerate clinical trials, expand research areas, and grow its artificial intelligence hub, which is run by its InstaDeep unit.
