Columbia Banking System Inc.'s subsidiary, Umpqua Bank, has appointed Judi Giem as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer, effective June 2, 2025. Giem will oversee the bank's human resource functions, including talent recruiting and retention, professional development, and succession planning. This appointment follows the proposed acquisition of Pacific Premier Bank, which will expand Umpqua Bank's workforce to approximately 6,500 associates and assets to $70 billion. Giem brings over 20 years of HR leadership experience, having previously served at Tri-Counties Bank and Banner Bank.
