0819 ET - Walmart's 3% jump in U.S. revenue was spurred by gains across a variety of key metrics. Comparable sales were up 4.5% from higher unit volumes and transactions. Average ticket size, excluding fuel, was up 2.8%. The company's e-commerce channel saw double-digit percentage growth led by store-fulfilled pickup and delivery, and its ad-sales group Walmart Connect logged 31% growth. Sam's Club nabbed its own 3% increase in sales on higher transactions, unit volumes and average ticket size, excluding fuel. Walmart is flat premarket. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
