This change was attributed to increased general and administrative expenses and higher marketing costs. Adjusted EBITDA stood at $4.1 million, down from $22.2 million the previous year, with a margin of 1.3% compared to 6.8% in 2024. WEBTOON also reported a diluted loss per share of $0.17, contrasting with diluted earnings per share of $0.06 a year ago. The company maintains a strong balance sheet with cash and cash equivalents totaling approximately $550.1 million, alongside an additional $28.1 million in short-term deposits. In operational updates, WEBTOON has implemented AI-powered discovery features to enhance its English-language platform, aiming to improve user experience. The company also expanded its content library by introducing major global franchises such as 'Godzilla' and 'Sonic the Hedgehog'. For the second quarter of 2025, WEBTOON anticipates revenue growth on a constant currency basis between 2.2% and 5.2%, with expected revenue ranging from $335 million to $345 million. Adjusted EBITDA for this period is projected to be between $0.5 million and $5.5 million, with a corresponding margin of 0.1% to 1.6%.
