Fortescue (ASX:FMG) shifted to the development of a high-grade green iron technology in Western Australia to compete with Africa and Brazil, The Australian reported Wednesday, citing Chief Executive Dino Otranto.
Otranto told the newspaper that the decision to abandon hydrogen technology has been supported by investors, adding that the company is refocusing and redeploying resources to develop green iron in the Pilbara using in-house and external technology.
