Idaho Strategic Resources (IDR) said Tuesday it has signed an agreement with Clean Core Thorium Energy to study the feasibility of thorium mining and processing for use in Clean Core's nuclear fuel.
The company said the agreement supports a US supply chain for thorium-based ANEEL fuel, which combines thorium and high assay low-enriched uranium for pressurized heavy water reactors.
The feasibility study would include evaluating infrastructure, permitting, and processing for the thorium fuel supply chain, the company said.
Shares of Idaho Strategic Resources were down 4.7% in recent trading.
