New York sues Capital One over savings accounts

NEW YORK, May 14 (Reuters) - Capital One COF.N was sued on Wednesday by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who accused the bank of deceiving consumers about interest rates on its savings accounts, causing the loss of million of dollars in interest.

The complaint filed in Manhattan federal court alleges violations of New York consumer protection laws. James wants Capital One to provide restitution to affected consumers, and pay civil fines.
