Silicon Laboratories Fiscal Q1 Loss Narrows as Revenue Rises; Fiscal Q2 Outlook Issued

Silicon Laboratories (SLAB) reported a fiscal Q1 loss Tuesday of $0.94 per diluted share, narrowing from a loss of $1.77 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of $0.82.

Revenue for the quarter ended April 5 was $177.7 million, up from $106.4 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $177.5 million.

The company said it expects fiscal Q2 adjusted loss of $0.01 to adjusted earnings of $0.19 per diluted share on revenue of $185 million to $200 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect adjusted earnings of $0.03 on revenue of $188.1 million.

Shares of the company rose nearly 2% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
