China Southern Airlines' Passenger Capacity Inches Up 1.5% in April; Hong Kong Shares Up 3%

China Southern Airlines' (SHA:600029, HKG:1055) passenger capacity rose 1.5% year over year to 29.7 billion available seat kilometers in April, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

Passenger count climbed 2.1% to 13.5 million during the month.

Cargo capacity increased 1.5% year on year to 4.26 billion available tonne-kilometers, the airline said in its filing.

Cargo and mail carried inched down 0.9% to 157,580 tonnes.

The airline's shares jumped 3% in Hong Kong during morning trading on Friday.
