1236 ET - Walmart's global advertising business was another bright spot in the company's strong 1Q report, growing 50% on tailwinds from its Vizio acquisition and its Walmart Connect ad platform, which helps brands reach Walmart customers from the retailer's website and in its stores. In the U.S., Walmart Connect logged a 31% jump in sales excluding its acquisition of Vizio, which closed last December and allows Walmart to sell advertising through the TVs that Vizio manufactures. Internationally, Walmart's advertising business grew 20%, led by its Indian e-commerce subsidiary Flipkart. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
