Imperial Brands' CEO Retirement Disappoints, But Doesn't Mean Change of Plan -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
14 May

0727 GMT - Imperial Brands Chief Executive Stefan Bomhard's retirement is disappointing, Panmure Liberum analyst Rae Maile writes in a note. However, "the transition will be seamless and there is no reason that any of the plans laid out at the recent investor event change at all," the analyst says. Stepping up to CEO, current Chief Financial Officer Lukas Paravicini has considerable skills and the promotion is well deserved, Maile adds. Shares in the London-listed tobacco company are down 6.5% at 2,703 pence.( najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
