1108 ET - Airbnb's new services and experiences business could open up markets outside of the travel industry, Oppenheimer analysts say. Customers can now book surf lessons and private chefs, which could appeal to people who aren't traveling but just looking for experiences in their own communities, the analysts say. That has the potential to increase how frequently customers turn to Airbnb, according to the analysts. They expect Airbnb may roll out host services next, such as housekeeping and laundry. The latest launch stands apart from previous "experiences" rollouts because the new product is more affordable, has a higher quality vetting process and includes a social element where groups can share photos and chat throughout the experience.
