GE Vernova has announced a USD $16 million investment to expand its manufacturing and engineering footprint in India, focusing on advanced grid technologies. The expansion aims to enhance the company's ability to produce and test next-generation equipment for modern transmission systems. This includes the development of a new manufacturing line at its existing Chennai facility and a new facility in Noida. The Noida lab is expected to be operational by the end of 2025, and the Chennai manufacturing line by early 2027. This investment is part of GE Vernova's "Asia for Asia" strategy, seeking to build localized manufacturing capacity to better serve regional needs and support India's renewable energy ambitions. The expansions will focus on technologies like High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS), which are crucial for stabilizing power grids and integrating renewable energy sources.
