PriceSmart appointed Gualberto Hernandez to its top finance role, effective June 1.

Hernandez would succeed Michael McCleary, who the warehouse-club chain on Friday said resigned by mutual agreement with the company.

Hernandez has held various leadership positions at Estee Lauder since 2016, including serving as the cosmetics company's vice president of finance and strategy for its Latin America business. Prior, he held leadership roles at Sephora.

Upon stepping down from the financial chief role, McCleary will continue to serve as an executive vice president of PriceSmart through Sept. 30. He additionally agreed to provide consulting support of up to 40 hours a month for three months following his resignation, the company said.
