Home Depot (HD) should not be held legally responsible for failing to warn an on-duty Dallas police officer that a shoplifting suspect could've been armed, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday.

According to the court, Officer Rogelio Santander, who was attacked and killed by a shoplifting suspect, would be presumed to know of potential dangers in the line of duty.

Home Depot did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
