0021 GMT - South Korea's benchmark Kospi rises 0.3% to 2581.18 in early trade, led by gains in semiconductor stocks. The Trump administration's plan to overhaul U.S. curbs on artificial-intelligence chip exports helps lift local semiconductor stocks, with retail investors being net buyers. Memory-chip maker SK Hynix, which supplies high-bandwidth-memory products to U.S. AI-chip giant Nvidia, gains 2.2%. Chip-making equipment supplier Hanmi Semiconductor rises 3.0%. Index heavyweight Samsung Electronics is also up 1.1%. USD/KRW is 0.1% lower at 1,396.20 in Seoul onshore trading.
