1655 ET - Family dining-chain Denny's reported a 3% decrease in U.S. same-store sales, with the chain's results reflecting "significant challenges for consumers." Denny's CEO Kelli Valade said that consumer sentiment remains negative as customers are concerned with tariffs, high prices and the job outlook. "Guests are stretched," Valade said. "We are now operating in one of the most aggressive, value-driven environments we've seen in years." The chain said it's promoting its affordable meals, along with new options to try and attract younger consumers. The company now expects 2025 U.S. same-store sales to range from a 2% decline to a 1% increase. (heather.haddon@wsj.com; @heatherhaddon)
