Hims & Hers Health appoints former Amazon executive Nader Kabbani as its chief operating officer.
The telehealth-consultation platform on Monday said Kabbani will oversee operations as the company looks to expand access to its portfolio--which includes treatments for sexual health and weight loss, among other areas.
Kabbani spent nearly 20 years at the e-commerce retailer and led Amazon's acquisition of PillPack and its pharmacy business, according to Hims.
The San Francisco company in April said that COO Melissa Baird would transition into an advisory role in the coming months. A departure date hadn't been determined, Hims said at the time. The company had also said it would enter a long-term agreement with Baird, who joined in 2018, to lean on her time and experience.
Hims' appointment comes as the landscape for weight-loss drugs is changing. The company in February said it would stop offering compounded semaglutide, a version of the active ingredient in weight-loss drugs Wegovy and Ozempic, after the first quarter. Novo Nordisk at the time said the Food and Drug Administration determined that the shortage of Wegovy and Ozempic has been resolved, while fellow drugmaker Eli Lilly cut prices of weight-loss drug Zepbound.
Hims and Novo Nordisk in April announced they would collaborate on a weight-loss treatment offering, including access to Wegovy and other services.
Hims is scheduled to report first-quarter results after Monday's closing bell.
