Samsung's Harman International Takes Over Masimo's Audio Business Unit for $350 Million

Harman International, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930), acquired the audio business unit of US-based electronics company Masimo for $350 million, the South Korean electronics products maker said in a Wednesday release.

The deal further expands Samsung's SmartThings synergy for better connected audio experiences, it said.

The acquisition follows Harman's purchase of Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, Polk, and Definitive Technology, further expanding its portfolio of audio brands.

Shares of Samsung Electronics rose nearly 1% in recent trade.
