Spruce Power Chief Financial Officer Sarah Wells has resigned and the search for a permanent successor is under way.

The company said Monday that Wells resigned to pursue other opportunities. Her resignation is effective May 14, the same day the company is scheduled to report earnings for the first quarter.

"We intend to identify a strong successor with capital markets expertise and a track record of driving operational efficiencies and executing growth strategies," Chief Executive Chris Hayes said.

Wells joined Spruce in 2018, and is also the head of sustainability, according to the company's website.

Denver-based Spruce is an owner and operator of distributed solar energy assets in the U.S.
