1156 ET - Anheuser-Busch InBev and MolsonCoors delivered sales figures for 1Q that missed the forecasts of analysts polled by FactSet. Budweiser brewer Anheuser-Busch said volumes were down 2.2% while Molson Coors, the brewer of Miller and Coors, notched a 14% decline. The U.S. alcohol industry has been squeezed by secular declines, particularly for the beer category. But AB InBev said it gained or maintained share in 60% of its markets, and that the latest quarter's volume decline was driven by calendar-related factors such as the shift in timing of the Easter holiday. Its shares rose 2%. Molson Coors meanwhile said its decline was driven by fewer shipments and cut its sales guidance for the year. Its shares fell 3.3%. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
