Smiths Group Pressing Ahead of Division Sale Plans, FT Says, Citing Sources

--Smiths Group is proceeding with plans to sell its electrical-connectors division, which could be valued at about 1 billion pounds ($1.33 billion), the Financial Times reports, citing unnamed sources.

--The company has begun pre-marketing the Smiths Interconnect division and plans to initiate a sale process in the coming days, the sources tell the Financial Times.

--Smiths has previously said it would sell or demerge two of its four core divisions and return gains to shareholders. This sale would be the first step of this process, the Financial Times reports.

--Smiths Group declined to comment to the Financial Times.
