Analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.94.
Revenue for the quarter ended March 29 was $7.44 billion, up from $5.47 billion a year earlier.
Analysts expected $7.12 billion.
For Q2, the chipmaker expects revenue of $7.1 billion to $7.7 billion. Analysts are looking for $7.22 billion.
Advanced Micro shares were up nearly 5% in after-hours activity.
